Novatia Protein LC/MS Mass Accuracy
Summary
- Novatia's ProMass-enabled protein LC/MS methods provide routine mass accuracies of ~0.01%.
- An example is shown below for the MW determination of the 46 kDa protein, yeast enolase.
The spectrum below is an electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectrum of yeast enolase obtained from Novatia's automated LC/MS system. The total amount of sample injected was 50 pmoles. The sample analysis time, including data processing, was less than 3 minutes.

The spectrum below is a deconvoluted (zero-charge) mass spectrum obtained via ProMass processing of the raw ESI mass spectrum shown above. The expected mass of yeast enolase is 46670.9 Da, as calculated from the amino acid sequence. The experimentally-determined mass of 46672.7 Da is within 0.004% of the expected value.
