Sharing ProMass Results with Colleagues

ProMass makes it easy to share your data with colleagues and collaborators.  Since the primary output from ProMass processing is HTML web pages, all a user needs is a web browser to view the results.  When automatic processing is performed from the sample list, ProMass results are deposited in the promass_results folder in the raw data directory by default.  You also have a number of other options of saving the results to a specific folder by setting the Results Directory in the ZNova parameter file.  In any case, opening the index.html file inside the ProMass results folder will allow any user to view and interactively browse the results.

You have several options when deciding how to share results with colleagues:

• The promass_results folder can be placed on a shared drive or internet/intranet server to allow other users to have access.  The promass_results folder can be renamed to something more descriptive.
• The promass_results folder can be compressed (e.g., zipped) and sent (e.g., emailed) to the collaborator.  The collaborator can unzip the file and open the index.html file to view the results.
• One can use Adobe Acrobat to convert individual sample reports or an entire 96-well sample collection to a PDF file.  The full version of Adobe Acrobat is required to do this.  Refer to the Acrobat documentation on how to convert web pages to PDF.
