Long oligonucleotides (>50-mers) are widely used in the production of DNA microarrays for genome profiling. Unfortunately, characterization of large oligonucleotides can be difficult using MALDI-ToF due to lower ionization and detection efficiency at higher masses. Novatia's ESI/LC/MS methods and Oligo HTCS system offer an attractive alternative characterization scheme that provides superior mass accuracy and resolution for the mass analysis of large oligonucleotides. The two spectra shown below are from a 60-mer trityl-on oligo with the sequence:
5'-DMT-TAATACGACTCACTATAGGGTAATACGACTCACTATAGGGTAATACGACTCACTATAGGG-3'
